I got up and found out you are allowed to wash your car in the
caravan park so keen to get rid of half the Bloomfield track mud caked
everywhere on the car. We then headed into the info centre and booked an island
trip and the train ride. Then spent a couple hours getting Megan a birthday
present and picked up some food at Coles. We retreated back to the caravan park
to get changed and spent the afternoon down at what they call the lagoon having
a swim with lots of back packers, followed by a walk along the water front and
the kids having some fun in a kids water park

Big day booked in, we got up early to catch the
sky rail up to Kuranda we hoped off at the 2 stops on the way and had a look
around at the rain forests and the look outs over the water falls. Upon arrival
at Kuranda we went to the butterfly farm as the wife promised the kids. The
Butterfly place was something else there was a big dome type enclosure with
water features and rain forest style plants with thousands of butterflies
flying around like there in heaven. While we were there a couple walked in with
their young son in a pram well the kid freaked out as he came down the tunnel
and realised there were butterflies flying around and towards him he lost it
screaming like he was being attacked by a croc. I wished I got it on video
funniest home videos would have made me thousands. I had enough of the
butterflies and left the wife and kids to walk around while I waited outside in
the park. We enjoyed some sandwiches in the park and kids had a play before
heading into a café for Kate to have a coffee. Kate and the girls then enjoyed
the markets, which this place has shit loads and I hate markets. There is the heritage
markets, the original markets and the new markets. After Kate and kids were
finished in the markets we enjoyed an ice cream before wasting 30mins at the
pub opposite the railway station before heading back down the mountain. I
enjoyed the train ride down with plenty of picture taking moments as the train
slowed down for the best bits. After arriving at the station a bus was waiting
to take all package holders back to the sky rail car park. Jessica is cranky and didn't want to be part of the photo lol
