th week on the road. 20-26th of February

th 0f February =Port Lincoln National Park September Beach. Jessica and I after Breakfast decided to go for a walk down to the Lighthouse and check out the head lands. The light house was nothing to look at but the rocks and the ocean with the view back to Port Lincoln was nice. Jessica and I decided we will go and get the fishing gear and come back with Mum and Megan. Once we returned I had just started fishing when seals started swimming by, followed by a stingray and then some Dolphins which we first though were Sharks. Then the seals returned and started doing a few tricks and jumps out of the water for us. This was all within 10 mins and all within 6 metres of where we were. The other young family we drove down with from Whyalla came out not much afterwards and we headed back to camp for some lunch with them, where we sat under the national park pergola looking over the water before they returned back to Port Lincoln. We spent the rest of the afternoon down by the water swimming.

st of February = Packed up today and headed back to port Lincoln caravan park where we shopped for food, did the washing, fuelled up the truck and just hung out at the park while the kids played on the swings

nd of February = Today we went out for a day trip to Koppio Smithy Museum. This Museum was dedicated to everything about old farming Australia and had an old country school and farm house also. The kids enjoyed it working the manual pumps and to pretending they were at school. We spent the afternoon cleaning and kids playing.

rd of February = Left Port Lincoln today to start heading north. We called in had a look at coffin bay and the view from the look out. We headed up to Elliston for Lunch where we met up with our friends again. Elliston has its own little great ocean Rd which we proceeded to drive around and have a look at the remains of their annual art show. We had decided to call into a Farm stay up the road we were even thinking of staying there for 2 days the brochure was awesome had bush setting flushing toilets, secluded beach the lady at the info centre at Elliston even talked it up. Well upon arrival at the checkout I should have turned on my alarm bells the camp was 3km one way, then the beach was 4km back the other way and you had to walk down a cliff. Anyway drove up the camp site the toilet had run out of water obvious by the remains from the log still lying there unable to flush away, the awesome camp kitchen was what looked like the remains of a badly built chicken shed. Anyway the bush setting was enough and we didn’t need there toilet and camp kitchen anyway. I was just expecting a farm stay would involve some animals or something for the kids to do.

th Of February = Got on the road early today and drove up to Streaky Bay couldn’t decide if we wanted to stay in a caravan park or free camp. I started speaking to a gentleman who was free camping up the road and I told him where I was going and he suggest going to Perlubie beach. We headed up to this camp spot and found there to be flushing toilets and a shower and a very nice beach. The temps were very hot today into the 40degree mark which resulted in us sitting in the ocean relaxing till very late even after dinner. Almost wish I had a generator to run the air con.  Besides the heat there is people camped here that come here every year and have done for  years and stay for up to 3 months.

th of February = Another hot day the sun had bite very early today so it was a race to Ceduna. Our friends we have being camping with packed quicker than ever and got the jump on us he did warn me as soon as he moves I was going to cop a lot of sun as I was still in his shadow. We drove straight to Ceduna and my fuel light was on for the last 15mins but I was not stopping manage to get the last spot in the nicest park in town the top tourist park on the water, plugged the van in and got the air con going I even left the pop top down which got out van cooler quicker very nice. Once the sun went down the big boys went for a couple of laps around the park with a few beers and cast wine we were doing alright.

th of February = Well my mate I was drinking with last night didn’t start off so good. We spent the morning being lazy and had a walk into town the temps had dropped heaps. We spent the afternoon up at the Foreshore pub for dinner.
